Jute Market Report for the period of  February 2013. Bangladesh . Raw   Jute:    The   month   under   review   witnessed   frequent   price   increases   which   reflected   the   strong   market.   When   this   report goes   to   print   the   raw   jute   market   is   now   as   before   bullish   with   upward   tendency.   Market   operators   hold   the   view   that   the supply position will remain very tight during the coming months. The jute growers themselves have no more unsold stocks and   this   is   also   the   reason   why   raw   jute   arrivals   at   terminal   markets   have   come   to   a   standstill.   Some   unsold   stocks   are   held by   hoarders   who   are   in   no   hurry   to   make   sales   and   who   expect   that   raw   jute   prices   will   further   appreciate. The   jute   yarn   and twine   spinning   mills   are   covering   their   requirements   from   hoarders.   The   state   enterprise   BJMC   was   an   active   buyer   during the   month   under   review,   last   but   not   least,   because   they   received   funds   to   the   tune   of   BDT   500   millions   from   Bangladesh Government.   Raw   jute   prices   have   incessantly   increased   over   the   last   3   months   and   prices   have   reached   meantime   such high   level,   that   raw   jute   balers/shippers   source   from   hoarders   only   when   they   have   to   cover   new   export   sales.   Experience has shown ......... Jute Market Report for the period of August 2012. Bangladesh . Raw   Jute: Early   July   India   was   in   the   market   for   Old   Crop   long   jute   lower   grades   and   jute   cuttings.   India’s   buying   activities caused   prices   to   appreciate.   The   upward   tendency   lasted   until   middle   of   July.   China   too   showed   interest   in   purchasing   Old Crop   since   Chinese   buyers   apprehended   that   New   Crop   arrivals   may   be   delayed   until   September.   However,   China’s purchases   concerned   small   quantities   only   since   shippers’   asking   prices   for   Old   Crop   were   significantly   above   the   price   level of   the   Chinese   jute   market.   There   were   first   arrivals   of   New   Crop   Weedings   of   Hard   District   Jute   and   North   Bengal   Jute, Meshta/Kenaf and White Jute.
